HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR WEBSITE FROM ANOTHER HOST:
STEP ONE
Time to make a change? Choose the small business website hosting plan that will meet your unique needs and proceed through the checkout process to initiate your new website services.
Not sure which plan will work for you? Open a ticket to discuss your ideas and we’ll be happy to provide you with a suggestion!
STEP TWO
Decide whether you will be making the switch immediately or if you will need a little bit of time to build and populate your new website first.
If you do need time, select to have your new website services setup using a “temporary URL“.
STEP THREE
Begin building your new website. Create your pages, categories, and repopulate all of your products. You may also have your new template installed during this step! Or- have us do it for you!
If you qualify for a complimentary website migration, we can move over any content from your old site and recreate it on the new!
STEP FOUR
When you’re satisfied with the content of your new website, backup your old site’s database and files. Save these old files for future reference and long term storage.
Then, recreate any @domain.com email accounts in your new cPanel.
STEP FIVE
If you haven’t already, now is the time to bring your new website live by updating the nameservers on your domain. In rare cases this part of the process may take up to 72 hours. This is due to something called “domain propagation”. Plan accordingly!

STEP SIX
Once the 72 hour waiting period has passed, and you’re sure that your website is fully on our servers, you can cancel your old website hosting services.
Want to be doubly sure? Let us know when you update the nameservers and we’ll check in and communicate with you through progress!
